Evolution: The Game

IBM's Artificial Intelligence, Watson, analyzed inmense amounts of data from each one of selected 8 historical characters, and came to unexpected insights about the life of each of them, that inspired unique pieces of art that were created in partneship with creatives of different disciplines and formed the first art exhibit ever made by man and machine.

Charles Darwin. Father of the Evolution theory

After analyzing all of Darwin's sketches, travel journals, articles published about him, notes, and several books, Watson came identified several interesting insights such as his love for rats, his surprisingly non adventurous personality and specially unexpected the linkage to board games and puzzles all through his life.

This last clue inspired the concept, which compared the theory of evolution with a game, where the strongest contestants get to evolve and survive and continue to play. We created an old school toy, a sliding puzzle size 5'x5' that people could interact with and that portrayed the father of evolution surrounded by some bizarre representations of creatures evolving.

To circle back conceptually, the actual puzzle itself was forever evolving by nature as people played with it.
